Spring is a beautiful time at Panorama; the sun shines a little brighter, the days are getting longer, and the goggle tans begin to show up. After a long and abnormally colder winter in BC and Alberta, we personally cannot wait to get some laps in under the sun without our balaclavas, toe warmers, and puffy jackets. Don't miss a moment with the short but sweet spring ski season with our local’s tips on how to rock the end of winter at Panorama.
1. The Social aspect – from summit to valley
Say goodbye to the 'no-friends-on-a-powder-day' mentality and hello to endless patio-weather and the notorious 2 pm Spring après scene. This Spring head to the Elkhorn Cabin mid-mountain for an ice cold craft beer where you can enjoy the incredible view of Mt. Nelson and an unplugged moment to connect with a friend. Looking to catch some rays? Head up to the sun-baked Summit Hut deck where you mix quick laps on the Summit quad with patio bevvies.
In the village you can find the locals kicking back with a plate of nachos on the Great Hall patio or at the newest après hotspot CABIN Smokehouse.

2. Unbeatable late-season deals
We understand how exciting a bargain can be for snow-enthusiasts after a winter of ski vacations and new gear purchases. This year you can finish off your ski season by relaxing slopeside without breaking the bank by booking our Spring BOGO sale on now. The deal is simple; for every full-priced night you book between April 2-13, we'll give you one night on the house.
Springtime at Panorama also features a whole whack of entertainment and DJs so you can kick back and relax to some live music after a long day in the sun.
In its debut year, The High Notes Music Festival has stacked the lineup with some of Canada’s best blues, folk, and rock artists. The T-Bar & Grill and Great Hall Patio will come alive over the March 17 -19 weekend with free après sessions by a hand-picked selection of amazing artists.
If country music is your scene then mark March 24 & 25 in your calendar to see up and coming country music star, Aaron Pollock for back-to-back free live shows at the T-Bar & Grill.
3. The Events
With summer on our minds, and snow under our feet stem some of the most entertaining and exciting events of the year.
The hills are alive with the sound of music! Renowned Canadian artists will be coming from coast-to-coast for the High Notes Music Festival, BC's newest folk festival at the resort from March 17-19th. Headlined by Canadian legends Jim Byrnes and Barney Bentall, this weekend is the perfect way to kick off our spring events at the resort.
On April 2nd, the Easy Rider Snowboard Cup turns 30 and returns to Panorama with it’s banked slalom! Famed as the longest running snowboard contest in Canada (and 3rd longest in North America behind the Burton US Open and Legendary Banked Slalom at Mt. Baker), the Easy Rider is an annual favourite drawing riders of all ages for an awesome day of rider camaraderie to #keepsnowboardingfun.

As someone with a closet full of costumes and a passion for skiing there is truly no better way to finish up the season than shredding slush at the annual Super Hero Sun Fest. Suit up for huge final weekend of sun-soaked fun including the slush showdown (pictured below), dual slalom, dummy downhill, and salute the Ski Patrol (the real heroes!).
4. Endless groomers
Of course, our favourite part of Spring at the resort is the skiing itself. Nothing compares to long days ripping laps on soft-groomed corduroy with your buddies. These conditions are ideal for perfecting your technique, correcting bad habits, or pushing your skiing to the next level. Round up your friends and head to the mountains for one of our Weekend Workshops for top level instruction, great skiing, and even better company.
